Greeting from Head of Program Profession of Doctor

Assalamu'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

The Faculty of Medicine, Syiah Kuala University (FK-USK) was established on April 1, 1982 to meet the needs of medical doctors in Indonesia, especially in Aceh. In 2016 the Bachelor of Medicine Program  and the Medical Doctor Program of  FK-USK received an A accreditation from the Lembaga Akreditasi Mandiri Pendidikan Tinggi Kesehatan Indonesia(LAM-PTKes). This achievement has become FK-USK’s asset to continue maintaining and improving the quality of the education. The curriculum at PSPPD FK-USK has been implemented through a learner-oriented learning process and strengthened by the integration of research and community service in accordance with established standards.

In 2019 the FK-USK PSPPD education curriculum has received acknowledgment of equality from the Thai Ministry of Health. The implementation of the PPEPP cycle (Determination, Implementation, Implementation Evaluation, Implementation Control, and Improvement) consistent with the Dikti Standards which is effective in the curriculum of the learning process and academic circumstance has made a positive contribution in the form of  improving GPA,  punctual passing and increasing student performance. The current medical profession curriculum consists of 45 credits, which are divided into 41 credits of compulsory subjects and 4 credits of elective courses. Medical Doctor Program is implemented in two stages, stage 1 (first and second semester) and stage 2 (third and fourth semester).

National Medical Doctor Competency Test  is a final test conducted by the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education as a requirement which consist of CBT (Computer Based Test) and OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination). After passing the test, students would receive a Doctor's degree. The number of students passing this competency is in increasing percentage, thus FK-USK producing more and more medical doctor graduates.

We continue to strive to develop ourselves in order to achieve our Vision of the Faculty of Medicine, Syiah Kuala University, especially in producing quality graduates (graduates) who are competent and capable in responding to global challenges and community needs.
