Biochemistry


The Biochemistry section is one part of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Syiah Kuala. Currently, the Biochemistry Division has 6 lecturers and 1 education staff. As a part under the auspices of the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Syiah Kuala (FK-USK), the Biochemistry Section supports and supports the vision of FK USK, namely by conducting research, teaching, and community service to participate in building FK-USK into an Excellent, Competitive, Innovative Faculty of Medicine, and Globally.



During its 40 years of existence, the Biochemistry Division has been led by 3 (three) division heads, namely:
1. drh. Amirsyah Husin (late) (1994 - 2012)
2. dr. Sakdiah, M.Sc, Sp.KKLP (2012 - 2016 / 2016 - 2020)
3. dr. Siti Hajar M.Kes., M.Ked.(Oph), Sp.M (2020 - present)

The USK Faculty of Medicine's Biochemistry Division is actively involved in the education process in the Doctoral Education, Health, Undergraduate Study Program; Specialist Medical Education Program (PPDS); Master's Degree Study Program in Biomedical Sciences, as well as Doctoral Study Program in Medicine. In addition to providing education within the USK Medical Faculty, the Biochemistry Division is also involved in the teaching process at the Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Dentistry, and Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.

In the field of research, the staff of the Biochemistry Division actively carry out joint research with students, internal divisions, cross sections, and across universities. As a form of community service, the staff of the Biochemistry Division also regularly holds community-oriented activities such as health counseling, medical consultations and examinations, as well as participating in Social Service activities held by Syiah Kuala University every year.
