The Family Medicine section is a section of the medical faculty that aims to produce graduates who can become doctors in primary care by prioritizing comprehensive health services, which include biological and psychosocial aspects.
Health services in family medicine are community-oriented with an emphasis on families. Family doctors do not only view patients as sick individuals but as part of the family unit, actively communicating with patients by making home visits.
Doctor graduates are expected to be able to work at the primary service level by having an adequate level of ability to be able to make the right diagnosis, complete treatment or provide initial treatment for further referral if needed to a higher or more complete level of service.
