Surgery


The Surgery Department was established in 1983, after the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine at Syiah Kuala University through the Decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 233/Menkes/SK/IV/1983 dated June 11, 1983.

Dr. Zainoel Abidin Hospital as a place of service and education was established on February 22, 1979 on the basis of the Decree of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 551/Menkes/SK/2F/1979. Then through the Decree of the Governor of the Special Region of Aceh No.445/173/1979 dated May 7, 1979 RSU Dr. Zainoel Abidin was designated as a Regional General Hospital (RSUD) with the first surgeon being dr.Ibnoe Ibrahim, Sp.B

The Doctor of Surgery Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Syiah Kuala University was formed in 2010, through the Decree of the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education of Indonesia number 195/DO/O/2010. In its journey that has entered the age of almost 12 years, currently the Surgery Department has 9 sub-divisions, namely: digestive surgery, oncology surgery, plastic surgery, urology, orthopedics and traumatology, pediatric surgery, neurosurgery, thoracic-cardiovascular surgery and vascular surgery. .

In its development, apart from opening the Sp-1 Surgery program, several new study programs have now been born, such as Plastic Surgery (2019), Orthopedics (2021) and Urology study programs which are currently in the process of obtaining permits.
