The Collegium Team of Internal Medicine made a visit to the Internal Medicine Section of the Faculty of Medicine, Syiah Kuala University on 23-25 October 2003 and it was decided that the Faculty of Medicine, Syiah Kuala University / RSUD dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh Province of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam as an Internal Medicine Specialist Education Center based on the Recommendation Letter of the Collegium of Internal Medicine Number: 042/SR.KIPD/1/04 on January 29, 2004.
Section of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of North Sumatra is the Supervisor for Internal Medicine Section of the Faculty of Medicine, Syiah Kuala University for 7 (seven) years until the issuance of the Decree of the Minister of National Education of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 181/E/O/2011 concerning Implementation of Internal Medicine Study Programs (Sp) independently at Syiah Kuala University in Banda Aceh on 11 August 2011.
