The Medical Faculty of Syiah Kuala University (FK USK) was established on April 1, 1982 based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 16 of 1982. In 1982 the Faculty of Medicine of Syiah Kuala University occupied the building of the Academy of Domestic Administration on Jalan T. Nyak Arief, then in 1986 moved to the Rector's Bureau building located on Jalan Tgk. Chik Pante Kulu.
In 1988 FK USK had its own building with an area of ??4389 m2 located on Jalan Tgk Syech Abdul Rauf Darussalam-Banda Aceh, which was built on an area of ??61,650 m2. Meanwhile, the other college buildings are located in the Regional General Hospital Complex, dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh which has an area of ??about 725 m2.
The Department of Dermatology and Venereology was established in 1983, with 1 staff, namely dr. Ahmad Garli, Sp.KK, FINSDV, FAADV. He is a doctor on duty in the city of Medan who was specially transferred to establish the Dermatology and Venereology Section of the USK FK, where at that time the Faculty of Medicine, Syiah Kuala University was founded. Currently the Dermatology & Venereology Section/KSM is in the process of preparing to open the Venereology Dermatology Study Program with the study program supervisor in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine, University of Padjadjaran and the MOU has been signed by the Unsyiah Medical Faculty and Unpad Medical Faculty in 2021.
