Two students from the USK Faculty of Medicine, Mahlil Jibran and Riza Daffa (members of the USK FK IKANMAS committee), won first place in the KSE JUARA 2025 Scientific Essay Competition with their local nutritional innovation: KELADA—a nutritional powder made from mackerel and katuk leaves to prevent stunting in Aceh!

More than just a product, KELADA is an educational movement from premarital to 1,000 days after birth, involving fishermen, farmers, the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA), and Posyandu (Integrated Health Posts).

"KELADA is not the end, but the beginning of a collaborative movement to improve the nation's health," said Mahlil.

"Local nutrition + education + collaboration = the key to fighting stunting!" added Riza.

Praise also came from the Vice Dean III of the USK Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Rina Suryani:

This work is not just a food innovation, but a concrete manifestation of concern for the root causes of nutrition problems in the community.

The KELADA team is ready to develop this product to the MSME scale and expand its reach throughout Indonesia.
