SYIAH KUALA UNIVERSITY FACULTY OF MEDICINE WON A GOLD MEDAL AT NATIONAL STUDENT CREATIVITY WEEK

The Syiah Kuala University PKM-KC team succeeded in winning a gold medal at the 36th National Student Science Week (PIMNAS) which was held at Padjadjaran University on 26–30 November 2023. This team was guided by Dr.dr.Budi Yanti, Sp.P( K) and chaired by Zarfan Fawwaz Muhamad (Medical Education 2020) and consisting of Teuku Fais Duta (Medical Education 2021), Muhammad Iqbal (Electrical Engineering 2020), Irmayani (Electrical Engineering 2020), and Sherina (Dentistry 2020). Obtaining this gold medal also brought USK to rank eleven as the best university in this most prestigious national scientific event.


The Syiah Kuala University PKM-KC team collaborated with three fields of science, namely medicine, dentistry and electrical engineering to create an innovative tool for detecting suspected chronic obstructive pulmonary disease based on artificial intelligence. It is hoped that this tool can be a solution to increase the number of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) findings and reduce the incidence of COPD in Indonesia. This PKM activity is very useful for increasing creativity, deepening knowledge, and optimizing collaboration between scientific fields to advance health services in Indonesia.
