In the previous odd semester of the 2023/2024 academic year, students of the Tropical Medicine Study Program at Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) participated in practical sessions for the courses Pathogens in Tropical Infections and Entomology of Tropical Diseases and Environmental Health. These practical sessions were designed to provide hands-on experience in the fields of tropical pathology and epidemiology.
Throughout the practical sessions, students engaged in various activities, including identifying pathogens responsible for tropical infections, studying vectors that transmit diseases, and learning how to maintain environmental health. These activities not only enriched the students' theoretical knowledge but also enhanced their practical skills, which are crucial for handling tropical diseases.
Using various methods and techniques, the practical sessions aimed to prepare students to become competent healthcare professionals ready to face real-world challenges. This experience also sought to deepen students' understanding of the relationships between pathogens, disease vectors, and environmental factors that affect public health.
