Towards a World Class University, FK USK Collaborates with McMaster University, Canada

In 2023, three FK USK delegations will depart for the cities of Montreal and Hamilton in Canada.

The delegation consisting of Dr. Subhan Rio Pamungkas, SpKJ (K), Deputy Dean III, Prof. Dr. Dr. M. Yani, M.Kes., PKK, SpKKLP, Head of Primary Care Family Medicine Specialist Study Program (SpKKLP) and Dr. Ichsan, M.Sc., SpKKLP. FMOC, as Secretary of the SpKKLP Study Program FK USK has 3 important missions, namely:

1. Scientific presentation at the 2023 Family Medicine Forum in Montreal Canada

2. Strengthening cooperation with member countries of The Besrour Center for Global Family Medicine at the Besrour Center Forum, and

3. Signing of MoU FK USK & FM McMaster University for 2023 - 2028

The scientific presentation was delivered by Dr. Ichsan at FMF Montreal with the topic Disaster Management in Family Medicine, this paper passed the selection of conference reviewers for oral presentation. This annual event, which is attended by 2100 participants from various countries, is always a potential momentum for building networks with various leading universities in the world.

The USK FK delegation also had the opportunity to make a presentation on academic collaboration in front of the Head of FM McMaster University, Prof. Cathy Risdon. Presentation made by Prof. M. Yani and has succeeded in agreeing on cooperation in the field of Increasing Lecturer Capacity through Faculty member exchanges, student exchanges, joint virtual lectures, seminars and workshops, joint research and joint publications.

The signing of the MoU was successfully carried out by dr. Subhan Rio Pamungkas and Prof. Cathy Risdon at McMaster University, Hamilton - Canada. The MoU will be valid for 5 years, namely the period 2023 - 2028

The additional mission that the USK FK delegation will carry out tomorrow is a presentation and collaborative discussion with Prof. Sonia Anand, vice president of McMaster University. The presentation explaining the concept of this collaboration will be carried out by Dr. Ichsan.

Hopefully this collaboration can increase to the university level so that USK's target of becoming a World Class University can be realized in the near future.
