Objectives:
Competency test is a nationwide examination and evaluation tool for students in medical professional programs that seeks to:
a. Ensuring that medical profession program graduates are capable and meet national standards;
b. Assessing attitudes, knowledge, and skills as the basis for practicing medicine;
c. Provide feedback on the educational process at the faculty of medicine;
d. Track the effectiveness of the medical program in relation to governmental policy making.
Function:
Competency Test Participants who pass will be given a professional certificate by the university and a competency certificate by the Professional Organization.

Participant:
- Competency Test Participants are students of the medical profession program who are studying at the medical faculty who have finished the full learning process.
- Students who have registered with the Higher Education Database are eligible to take the Competency Test.
Method:
- MCQs with a single correct answer on a computer-based test (CBT) (150 questions)
- Objective Structure Clinical Examination (OSCE) (12 station + 2 resting stations)
Registration of participants:
- The Medical Faculty registers collectively via the Online Registration System for Medical Education Student Competency Test.

Implementation:
- Performed four times a year (February, May, August, November)
- A week before the CBT MCQs, the OSCE is completed first.
- The OSCE and CBT are scheduled to take place in May 2022 on May 21–23 and May 28–29, respectively.
- OSCE is held on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday for a maximum of 3 days.
- MCQs CBT is held on Saturday and Sunday for a maximum of 2 days.
- On the Friday before to the exam, technical preparation is done at the test venue.
Pre-Medical Doctor Program Student Competency Test:
- 1 month prior Medical Professional Education Students Competency Test will be carried out:
- Association of Medical Educational Institutions Tryouts hosted by Association of Medical Educational Institutions
- Faculty Internal Tryouts hosted by Faculty
- OSCE Tryouts hosted by Faculty
Young Doctors who have completed clinical clerkships and have been deemed to have passed all rotations are the prerequisites for participating students.
